It depends on each hospital and your insurance. You need to call and speak to someone in "Billing" at the hospital where you plan on delivering.

I don't have insurance, so I had to call ahead on this one. I live in Tampa Bay, Florida. To give birth @ the hospital it costs: 1 day-$1700, 2 days-$2200, 3 days-$2850. If you end up with a C-section (3 day stay)-$5000. An epidural costs $462.90. A circumcision costs $88. Good Luck!

With my daughter almost 3 years ago our insurance paid 70% and our out of pocket for the epidural was almost $1200. That was in Kansas City metro area.

You will need to call the hospital and ask if they do this or do they contract out the anesthesiologist and then find out if your insurance company will cover it .. I had a problem with mine, they told me that it would be covered and then after the fact it was not covered by whoever the tech was.. his name was not in there data base and I had to pay 400.00 for being 'out of network'... even though the company that did it was in network. Insurance is great.. but can screw you over at the same time. Good luck. I am now on Medicaid, due to having to quit my job from my High Risk pregnancy and they will cover my anesthesia no matter who does it. Thank God.

I'm in South Carolina, and the cost is around $1,500 just for the epidural.
