They're a big offensive team, and they're the only team stopping us from going to state every year. We haven't beat them since 1994, anfd they won state in 2004. We have a pretty good defense, but not great. We do have one great pitcher, though.

I would say you would have to throw your ace, and hope he has a good day. If you would need relieve keep throwing fresh arms at them don't keep anyone in to long. If you can hold it to a low scoring game you will just have to play small ball and use the bunt or hit and run to try to advance runners into scoring position and then get the big base hit to drive in a few runs to win.

You have already lost. Most games are won or lost in your mind before you even start. If they are stopping you from going to state then your team is obviously good so the only thing stopping you is you.
(this is from Sun Tzu - The Art of War)

If you don't know or understand their weakness you cannot win.

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

If he is taking his ease, give him no rest.
If his forces are united, separate them.

Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where
you are not expected.
______________
If they are a big offensive team, make them play defense. Take a page from Mike Scioscia's (LAA Angels) play book, play small ball. Make every inning they are on the field seem to last for hours, take pitches, stall, bunt, steal, score 1 run at a time - in other words, since they are an offensive team. Make sure they spend the majority of their day on defense.

One tactic I have used in the past to make the other team think defense is: I started the game having the first three batters try to bunt for a base hit down the 3B line, he moved up on every at bat - 1 runner got on, number 4 hitter faked the bunt early and pulled the bat back and drilled a line drive down the 3B line and almost killed their 3B, he was charging and had to fall backwards. But it confused him for the rest of the day, he was unsure of whether to play up or back. Every time he moved back the hitter faked a bunt - he was so messed up in the head he couldn't hit either.

Have your Ace pitcher rested Defense would have 2 be Good that day not average but not great either. Have your lead off men wear down the start so half way thru the second time in line up he is weary. other than try to score first and keep the pressure on them. GOOD LUCK and let me know how you guys do

Your pitcher needs to establish the zone, this may mean a few walks early on. But he has to establish the strike zone very low. Keep the ball below the knees and on the outside corner. This will take away the teams power hitting and leave the game up to your defense.

As a team your going to have to play aggressively and keep pressure on the other team. Make them think and make hasty decisions.

Old fashioned small ball, thats the best way to do it, if they make any mistakes, u guys have to jump on them. Just a word of warning though, the season hasnt started, dont get caught looking too far ahead, remember u still hav to win the games before them too.

Well, you need to have a great day batting, and your pitcher needs to bring his best stuff. Also, it's always important to get on the board first. I think you could beat them if you don't make any errors (1-2 is okay), and have a solid day batting. Good luck, and go get them. :)

Your best best is to hope they make a couple mistakes, and then pounce on them hard. Even the best teams aren't perfect...it's just taking advantage of what they give to you that can win games. Other than that, it's about getting the leadoff man on base as often as you can and not leaving men on base...sure you can get 'em on. But if your team is constantly leaving one and two men on base, you're not gonna win.

-Always get the first guy out every inning.
-Throw your ace
-Your team must play with confidence. Know going in to the game your going to win.

Remember that they put their pants on one leg at a time...they aren't anything to fear. Have confidence and go beat the socks of 'em.
