My girlfriends parents and my parents recently found out me and my girlfriend are having sex. Now everytime My girlfriend and her parents get into a fight her mom threatens to call the police on me because i am a sex offender.

Here are a few details.
1. Live in the state of Illinois.
2. I am 18, she is 17. Our birthdays are 11 months apart.
3. We've been having sex since before I turned 18.
4. We've been together for just over a year.

I wanted to know if she can LEGALLY call the police on me for having sex with her daughter. I also wanted to know if there was any way around this, if any? Thanks.

In IL, the age of consent is 17. If you were sleeping with her when you were 17 and you are 11 months apart, chances are you were sleeping with her when she was 16. That's a Class 2 felony in Illinois.

Now the question is: can anyone prove (show evidence) beyond a reasonable doubt that you had sex with her before her 17th birthday? Aside from the fact that you just put it in writing on this website, I mean. (Hint, hint.) Or she might have kept a diary. Or you blabbed or TM'd it to all your friends, and enemies.

Any sexual conduct now is not a violation. Bang away if you must. It's what you did when she was 16 that's the offence.

The only "way around it" is (1) they have to prove it and (2) there must be a statute of limitations -- don't know what it is, sorry.

You could be arrested on a felony change but depending on everyone involved - parents, the police, the DA, and you two - it could be reduced to a misdemeanor sex offense. BUT.... that would still put on on a sex offender list and that will haunt you for YEARS if not for life. You'll have a very hard time getting a job, getting an apartment, getting in school, etc. The advice to stop having sex now is worthless as the crime has already been committed. The key seems to be keeping her mom calm until she turns 18, which is less than one year. Find out what mom wants and comply - she holds your life in her hands.

Have you ever thought that it could come out that the mother has known about this for some time and NOT done anything. Then when you piss her off, she will threaten to do this stuff. I recall a judge in Michigan saying, 16 &1/2 is a legal gray area. Watch your Ps and Qs, but most importantly, call the place where you have to register and just ask them. They will ask you to elaborate a bit, but being you were under age when it all started, it would all come into play. Has she thought of emancepation (hope I spelled it right). That way she is no longer under the thumb of the parents and looked at by the court as an adult. I have lived throught similar, and wish all the best....fee

You betcha she can call the cops on you, and even if your girlfriend says it is consensual the fact remains she is a minor and you are legally an adult. It would be considered statutory rape.

Double check your state code for age of consent, but if memory serves me right Ohio uses 18 as the age of consent.

If Mamma gets you charged with statuatory rape and you are convicted you would be a registered sex offender. Really to be honest - y'all are to young to be playing hanky panky anyway - wait til she turns 18 at least sheesh.

Yes they can call the police, and if DNA evidence can be obtained you will be convicted and registered as a sex offender, in addition to going to prison. There are two ways to reduce your risk...1: use a condom at all times, and 2: marry the girl, then it becomes legal and you cannot be charged.

The messed up thing here is that not so long ago the age of consent in some states was as low as 9. Yet all these fools here who're looking down on you are idiots. Most countries of the world have the age of consent as 16. So yeah yet more rubbish from the supposed greatest country on the planet. Greatest at bombing women and children and talking our of their ****'s more like it.

I also live in Illinois
She can call the police but prooving you actually had sex would take a video or yours or her confession
Do not admit this to anyone else
Keep low profile
tell them all to kiss off after she turns 18

Yes, she can and should call the police on you. You are not a minor, she is! There are no ways around this. It is the law. You are technically raping that girl everytime you have sex with her.

Keep your Johnson in your pants until she's legal! If you love and respect her, you will.
