You didn't say if it was 10 key or alpha numeric data entry. Those are very different, as 10 key is only one hand and alpha numeric is both.
Go on the internet and type in Free Data Entry Training. You may get hit with a few undesirable sales emails, but it should work the trick. expect about a 10% improvement per month, if you work at it 2 hours a day. Maybe more improvement, it really depends on your current skills set, like if you can type without looking you'll probably excel faster.
