I just got through a 2nd interview with a potential employer and after I left the building I noticed the interview only took 15 minutes. So is this a bad thing, or would you think that the interview was just a formality and they had already decided on me? The interview went well and I didn't step into anything wrong or bad, I even had him laughing once with one of my stories!

I don't really think they were stringing me out because I had to drive 40 miles to get to the interview and you'd think they wouldn't make me do it a 2nd time unless they were interested in me, it's just that i can't shake the feeling that the interview took WWAAAYYYY to little time!

Some employers, particularly large businesses, have standards for employment interviews so all applicants will get treated evenly. My guess is their standard for second interview is a quarter hour. I think you should be pleased (this is probably the final hurdle) that the selection process will be immanent. Leaving on a friendly note as you did is great, and you might be hearing from them any day. Good luck!

It depends on the interviewer as to how long an interview should go, especially a second interview. At this point I would just relax and wait to here back from the company. Keep looking for another job in case this one doesn't pan out for you though. Never count on a "sure thing" when it comes to looking for a job. It's nice to have a choice of which one to choose instead of waiting around for one.

It really depends on the person you met with. They may have liked you but were just really busy. They may have decided you didn't have the right qualifications and didn't want to waste your time. They may have already picked someone else and kept the interview as a formality.

Send a thank you note via email. And keep your eggs in multiple baskets.

PS - It's good to have managers laughing in interviews :)

That doesn't sound bad to me. They probably just wanted to make sure they had made the right decision. If it went well and you made them laugh, you're probably doing fine.
