I have 256 MB Ram installed, only recognizes 128MB. Have swapped both back and forth, as well as single bank testing. Both work individually, but only recognizes one bank.

in other words, both sticks work in one slot, but neither sticks work in other slot. then its a bad motherboard. if you are not under warranty, I would get a new laptop. the motherboards areproprietary and unless you can find another one for that same model, your stuck.

Well... there is not much we can do. We can't fix a hardware issue over the internet. The bank is bad.

All you can do is buy a 256 module and install it. Either that or buy a new motherboard.

something that previous could have a minimum of two slots for RAM. you need to probably bump it as much as two GB. it particularly is going to help the overall performance as long as you do no longer burden the pc with source hungry purposes.
