i have a problem. i'm 15 years old, and i imagine people. every day, i go into my own little world, i pretend to be somebody else living in another family in another state. and i do things with my "brothers and sisters". except when i do this, i'm not "me". I'm Bridget, or Leslie, or whoever i want to be. i'm to old to have imaginary friends. and i'm the only one i know who does this. and i have the perfect life in real life. 2 parents still married, an older brother and sister. friends, church, sports. but no matter how hard i try, i can't stop. i keep zoning out and going into my "world". i hate it. nobody knows i do this, and don't say tell someone because i'm not going to. i've been doing this since i was 6.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe your being possessed! If your head starts spinning and you spew out green sh*t, you might want to tell someone. Oh yeah, if the bed starts shaking a lot or sh*t starts floating around the room, tell somebody. But if none of that happens then who is this hurting? You get to live many lives at once.

c'mon I need at least 10 negs ! Why is everybody taking her seriously, I bet she's sitting in a room with a bunch of friends laughing at all the people that would be gullable enough to believe this story.

If you don't talk to anyone else about it, how do you know for sure that you are the only one that does this? It doesn't sound too strange, unless of course it's interfering with your real life relationships, or grades at school, etc... I used to imagine myself owning, riding, and showing off on a beautiful horse when I was younger. lol I'm sure many people "imagine" the things they love and have an interest in. How much older are your brothers and sister? If they are lots older, then you may have wished for one who was closer to your age that you could interact with more. It doesn't sound like your "crazy" so stop worrying too much. Maybe you are just destined to become a great actress, since you can picture yourself in other scenarios. If you feel this is a problem, then channel all that thought and energy into the here and now, and keep your mind busy doing something in the moment.

You sound OK to me , other people do that & they end up being writers & acters .
My grand daughter & I did it together when she was in preschool . We made up 3 young kids , one her age & 2 older . It started as a way of getting her to eat & get ready for preschool , if they did some thing like dress & eat she moved faster .. I talked the parts of the other kids & she was her self . This went on for 4 or more years . We plan to write the story soon of her & the 3 kids .
She's in drama club now & loves acking . They did " Any thing goes " Sunday . She's 14 a freshman in high school . Writes her own words & music for the talent show every year . You can use your amagination in a lot of ways .
Right now you have your head full of a lot of stuff thats needs to get out . Put it in a folder on your computer , keep adding to it . play it out in your mind , then write it down .
Ask a teacher or some one about writeing short storys or acting in plays at school .
Don't let any one guilt trip you about it . You could make big money some day using a talent some people only wish they had .. Use it & enjoy it . It sounds to me as if you have a very active amagation & you'll need that if you care to try writeing .
.But if you worry about it & don't answer when talked to or stay spaced out for a long time . You might want to talk to some one . Your school conceler might help .

You wanna know something?? Don't listen to those people that say you're nuts! Sometimes, even when our life is perfect, we get lonely. And I don't think it's that unatural to find someone to talk to. I did it when I was younger.. And though I was younger than you, I still do it in another way: I WRITE stories. It may not be me out there, but by writing, I get to be who I want to be, have another family, live in another place, have another friends.
And if you want me to be really honest, I highly doubt it that you have a mental illness or a personality disorder. First of all, because though you imagine things, you are pretty aware it's imaginary, as you are telling us. And even though you imagine another reality and even think of being like someone else, you don't act like those people in your real life (at least you didn't say so). If you couldn't control your thoughts and started just acting like those people in your daily life, then I would worry. There's nothing wrong with you. We all wish we could be someone else sometimes. I'm sure you'll eventually grow out of it. I did!

If this is not affecting your other life (in which you asked this question) then don't be too concerned. Try to eliminate the whispering and acting as that will attract or maybe even already has attracted attention. If interesting things happen in your zone then you have an opportunity to share them with the world as a book which will give you money.

Happy Daze!

I dont have any idea what it is but maybe you just have a good amagination for your age usually by the time your a teenager you have sadly lost most of it but I know I'm the exact same I thought I was going mental to like I hear voices but like I think I'm pretending like I'm talking to a favourite band or singer or someone I want to meet. I have to agree somtimes it is much easier and more fun to live in your own world.

I It'll probably be hard to stop since you've been doing it so long, but I wouldn't worry too much. When you catch yourself zoning off, just get busy doing something that will distract you. I think it will go away if you don't allow yourself to go there. It could develop into something serious if you don't stop yourself, though. I promise you your parents aren't going to freak out or judge you. Don't be embarassed to tell them if you think you need help. I'll be praying for you sweetie :)

hm... well you say your "real" life is perfect, maybe it's not? Are you missing something in your life? That could cause you to act out like that. You may not realize you are missing something in your life right now, but maybe you will soon. Really think about it. i know you said you do not want to talk to someone, but maybe that is the problem. You do not get to say what you really want to say because of what people will say or think about you. Maybe you are not who you want to be. If you speak out to a close friend/family member, or maybe someone you do not know. Some rest and relaxation may do it, go and meditate and really think about your life, who you are, who you want to be, what you want to do. things like that. i'm probably not much help, but goodluck

Hun i know you don't want to tell anybody, but why are you telling us?
I know it's hard but the only way to figure things out and get help is to tell someone close to you, they won't judge you, they love you and i'm sure they would want to know about this their could be a serious underlying problem not physically but mentally and it would be better getting help sooner rather than later..
If you want to talk more email me at damduckie@yahoo.com...
