I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. How do I ensure all confidential info I may enter on that site is ecrypted i.e.e-mail addresses and the like. I just tried to enter some moderate info on a site and it gave me a warning it could be viewed by a third party. Thanx

If the website's URL has https instead of just http, then the website it safe. HTTPS is the secure version of http.

Yes the information you give can be read by a third party, unless you have security installed it want , warning will come up still,

remember encryption is used for entering personal detail to a company that is only allowed to read it, it will be sent like this

**************
like you type a password, the codes are sent the , company , that converts your personal details into letters, only read by them, this is the law is well that data held by a company must be protected by them and that third party cannot have information about the person, other wise it is breaking the Data Protection Act, personal details sent ,is always encryption, and always ,make sure you sign up with a secure website, who hold a digital certificate and you can tell with the lock sign when siging up andt the bottom right hand corner I hope this helps you .

the 1st answer has it right, look for https:// instead of http://

the 's' stands for secure (or maybe SSL, secure-socket layer), but at any rate you can be pretty certain that will protect your info (or at least make the warning go away).
