If you can't afford a subscribed Anti Virus protection, then why in this world you want to use a computer?

Facts:

#1 All free Anti virus off the Internet are unable to detect and protect your computer. Yes, they may be helpful, but they're very weak. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE FREE!!!

#2 All free software off the Internet comes with spywares that eventually ruin your computer.

#3 Spybot software, which kills and destroys spywares, also kills and destroyes your computer OS, because it cuts so deep into your system to detect spywares.

Why not purchase the solution to ensure you have the best and most updated protection against all threat and not only certain threats? It only cost $49 dollars

AOL active scan by Kaspersky, is very very good, and free with hourly updates and was recently given 8/10 it is basically kaspersky 6 with a couple of bits missing, try it and see, i have it installed on about a dozen machines that i maintain(my own included) and have not had to deal with a single virus issue in about 5 months, as oppose to avg that i used to install on systems, i find it much better and the appraisals seem to back up my findings, it is a strong as paid versions, the first answer was utter rubbish.

suck it and see

Firstly, don't listen to Dell Tec as sounds as he writes a load of rubbish, not all free software is loaded with spyware and no program including the ones you pay for can gaurentee stopping all viruses. I personally use Avast on a home pc and have never had a problem. I did use Norton before but its such a computer hog and a ***** to get everything off you system, saying that I would probably use it if I ran a business.

No get AOL Active Virus Sheild its better than nearly all paid virus protection software go to http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82
it shows that AOL Active Virus Sheild has a 99.6% Detection rate only beaten by its creators paid virus protection.
Its not actually made by AOL its made by Kapersky which sold the program to try and build AOL reputation although is updated by Kapersky its better than AVG Free, Panda 2007, Norton and others.

AVG!!!!!!!! i use Avg free edition,Ad-Aware SE personal,Spybot-Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster. All of these are free and THEY WORK. They detect problems with my computer and they fix them. Kinda fast. The only problem is you have to do them manually.Sorry about that part. They are good products though. For a virus protection choose free AVG. go to www.grisoft.com . Look around the sit and you will find the AVG free edition 7.5. not 7.1.

AVG or Avast.Used them both no probs.
Download Windows Defender as well that will sort any spy-wear.
I've used The pay as you go ones.
Norton was rubbish ,didn't stop all infections.
Macafee better but didn't deal with spy.
Panda was about the best if you want to Pay.

>avg
> avast from avast.com

Note: when u scan ur pc using avast, it will also detect some system files as viruses dont delete them or ur RAM will get damaged. In the quarantine list, you can view the location of the virus.

Hope this helps!
