A better question is "Would you be happy without money?" Money works on things that make you happy and it doesn't work on some things that will never make you happy ;)

Money itself does not provide happiness.

What money does is enable someone to live without having to worry about how they are going to pay their monthly bills and keep food on the table and a roof over their head. It allows for vacations, which in turn are usually associated with happiness. Having it eliminates a form of financial stress that dooms a lot of relationships/marriages.

The reality is, most people who have money don't spend much of it, as it is often their frugality that led to them being able to accumulate their wealth, while people who don't have much money would be extremely grateful to have just a little more to reduce financial stress they feel or perhaps be able to splurge and take a vacation or purchase a material item/service that they have long wanted. A sustained feeling of happiness is not really part of that equation.

I think that's what poor people say to delude themselves into feeling better about themselves. I will say that I've known some very wealthy people who were miserable and some poor folks who never stop laughing. But I've lived on both sides of the wealth fence and life is a lot better with money. In and of itself money does not bring happiness. You need to be happy first.

Yes - to a point. The problem is that too often NOT having money can make you unhappy, stressed, fight with your spouse/family, and down-right depressed. Having money can resolve a lot of people's unhappiness.

What you do next is up to you. If someone handed me $1 Million dollars I would be set for life! and be VERY VERY Happy!

Depends on what your definition of happiness is. If its all about owning material things then yes it just might.

If you believe happiness comes from other things say like love and/or family than it probably won't.

Of course. I am tired of being poor. I came from a poor family and poor myself.
