97 cavalier lurches when in 4th gear?

I have a 97 Cavalier that when in 4th gear (around 55-70mph) you can feel a lurch in the engine. Almost as if the engine wants to quit running or like it can't find the right gear to be in. Any ideas?

Hi You can not hold that baby back! I think it sounds like a fuel problem,the way it is cutting out like that.I had a Buick that acted like you describe at 55 mph.That turned out to be a bent rod,which had to be changed, under warranty.if you take it to a dealer ,they can pretty well nail it down. To days car you need the right test equipment to find problem.Good luck
