Hi, i am 18 years old and i just dropped out of High School last month. Now I'm taking a G.E.D class and they teach what's going to be on the GED test. Basically, i think my teacher thinks i'm ready to take the test, but the problem is i haven't asked her what you need for the GED test. So... do u need a state i.d or social security or what? because there was 8-9 kids in my class that took the ged tests and i asked them if they need any i.d, they said "NO", but i just want to be sure.

I think you need a number 2 pencil and a functioning brain.

You may be able to still get a high school diploma without taking the GED exam; you should check with your school district.

If you are going to take the GED, you will need to check with your state government agency to make sure of the requirements, and call the center where the test will be given to determine what you will need to bring on test day.
