not any more... i live across from a new subdivision being built and it has been INSANELY dusty! now i do the following:
1. the KEY is to change your air filters every 30 days; this DRAMATICALLY helped with the dust in our house- especially the 3m allergy filters!! the MAGIC ingredient!!!
2. use pledge anti-dust, anti-allergen (blue bottle, smells great)- no other dusting spray works, even regular pledge. this kind can be used on surfaces other than wood.
3. since you now have sprayed the wetness (which keeps dust from flying away), wipe with either a baby burping rag (gentle surface) or a gentleman's sock.
4. dusting weekly will help- if the dust is thick, it tends to cloud in the air. done more frequently will cut down on the amount of work!
GOOD LUCK!!!!

As you polish the surface you are disturbing motes of dust in the air, unless you use a vacum to pull the floating dust away from the air you will get it resettling I'm afrai. As you dust have a hoover running with a dust attatchment if you have one, or leave a window open to at least move the dust about.

Your not using what I use. Spontex dusters will leave your surface dust free for at least 2 days , Okay if you work in a bakers or cement factory NO. but home and office yes . They are great little duster´s , when I first used them I found myself going round the house looking for something to clean . there something in these little duster´s that stop the dust settling back again.

I have been told if you vacuum clean then polish the dust doesn't come back so quick the air from the vacuum cleaner blows the dust about so it settles back on the surface

it's caused by static electricity, which attracts the particles of dust back to the surface u have just cleaned. (TVs are one of the worst items for this problem) i get around the problem by using either baby wipes or those new duster wipes which u can buy in packets now. (pledge and Mr. sheen both do duster wipes).

I have 2 cockatiels in the living room and I live in the prairies--dust, dust, dust .it's even dusty when it's 40 below outside. I have come to the point that I tell the kids that if they must draw in the dust--don't put the date in it lol. and if they draw on the t.v. screen, then they have clean it . properly.

Alas, the woes of winter. Change your furnace filter monthly and cut down on your dusting chores.
