I doubt it. Even with the lottery chances....i still doubt it.

As it sits right now, no. The NHL draft lottery is different from the NBA draft lottery. In the NHL, only the 5 worst teams have a chance to get the #1 pick. Whoever wins the lottery can move up a maximum of 4 spots in the order. Thus the 6th worst team can only move up 4 spots to number 2 overall. Right now the Blue Jackets are the 6th worst, with Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago, Phoenix and Philadelphia was more pathetic teams. Add in the fact that they have a better record in the last 10 games than the teams behind them, the gap won't narrow, it will only widen. With the way my Oilers are playing, I wouldn't be surprised if Columbus passes them to move to 7th worst.

I recently ran a mock draft lottery (based on current projections) and I came up with this:
1. Flyers
2. Kings
3. Blackhawks
4. Blue Jackets
5. Coyotes
6. Capitals
7. Panthers
8. Bruins
9. Oilers
10. Blues
11. Canadiens
12.Rangers
13. Avalanche
14. Maple Leafs
This may not be the actual turnout, but I expect the Jackets to receive one of the top 5 picks

It could possibly be the blue jackets but there are worst teams like Philly, L.A, Chicago, and maybe some other team so the Jackets will probably not get the first round pick

No, we have yet to win a draft lottery! We could have 99% chance of the #1 pick, and we'll still lose the lottery!!

It is a WEIGHTED Lottery. Even if they finish LAST by points they aren't guaranteed the top pick. So we don't really know.

No, I think it will be Philadelphia. Both teams are REALLY bad, though.
