Ok, first of all I am a animal lover and would not even kill a bug, but my question is this what is the diffrence between straving a dog which is inhumane, and keeping a dog caged up for the rest of his life in a 6 by 6 cage I would consider that to be inhumane to so what is the diffrence?

Well the starving part would be torture and the cage i guess would be suffering and boredom. But i do agree both are pretty inhumane. For i to love animals. and cant stand to see them suffer.

Maybe this will help... swap the dog with your bed ridden granny. Granny lives on a bed 3 by 7 for the rest of her life being cared for but otherwise ignored or granny dies slowly of starvation, you pick.

Life is not defined by the number of heartbeats. It is defined by fullness of that life. By depriving a dog of the necessary things -- food or joy -- to achieve that fullnes, you deprive him of life.

hopefully the owner treats the pet well, and the pet is happy.

but, you are totally right. having pets is almost another form of slavery, and is pretty inhumane.

there is no difference - either way you are depriving the dog of a certain freedom. whether it be the freedom to roam or the freedom to hunt and consume.
