If you're talking muscle, first you have to be working out a lot. Weight lifting is good. Go for high weight, low reps (3-5/set); this will build size, and therefore weight. Work to exhaustion on each set, and work out every muscle group. Especially legs; because these muscles are larger, working them out more will trigger a higher testosterone release, and make ALL of your muscles grow faster:)
Second, you need to eat enough protein. Without it, your body will have nothing to build new muscle out of. Eat at least 1 gram for every pound you weigh, every day. More is better.
Third, you need to eat enough calories. Without them, your body will have no energy to turn the protein into muscle. Most people need about 2500 every day; if you have a high metabolism, go up to 4000, or even higher. Just make sure you're getting plenty of exercise while you're eating this much; if you're not, it will go straight to fat.

All you really have to do is when you have time to, clean out your fridge, pantry, and anything else very fattening( like i do every weekend). Then drive to nearest Mcdonalds and order a double quarter pounder w/ cheese, super size french fries, a 20 piece chicken Mcnugget, a deluxe breakfast, a crispy chicken california cobb salad, a chocolate triple thick 32 fluid ounce cup, and a super size (42 fluid ounce cup) of sprite which should give you 4,970 calories already.

By eating jund and fast food (McDonald's, Taco Bell, KFC, etc.). That's what made me overweight as well as drinking so many high sugar, high calorie sodas as well as consuming other high-fat foods.
