I love both of them and own a Stewart/Colbert 08 t-shirt. But... no. They'd be the first to tell you that they're not qualified candidates.

The reasons why the ticket would be attractive, not-as-diplomatic-answerers, are these:

1) They have a healthy respect for common sense
2) Repeatedly have shown respect for the Constitution
3) Many people feel they couldn't do worse than the current administration.

Why is it that liberals think that someone who is a comedian/actor/sports hero would make a good president?

You really shouldn't be allowed to vote if you think that you can go straight from a TV show to being President of the USA.

Yes, Regan was an actor, but he had a long, talented, successful political career before running for President. Let Stewart and Colbert run your city first. If the do a good job, they might become a Senator or Governor.

I'd vote for Jon Stewart if Al Sharpton was his running mate

no... Colbert is a Bush suck-up pretending to joke about Bush policies

And Jon is a just a comedian...not suited to be a leader

They are funny as hell though!

Well, not for President....I'm don't think so. I LOVE these guys - they are so funny and I love how they just slam the conservatives and whackos right to their faces and - the dopes don't even realize it.....don't realize that these two make fun of them all the time.

Don't know if they would make good politicians. They are not boring enough.

I also LOVE Bill Maher.....another shoot-from-the-hip guy who is not afraid to speak his mind.

I would, off the camera when the comedian act wears off both are quite intelligent people. It would be ironic to see them seriously try to run an administration. Just don't start crying when the humor wears off and they can't solve the world's problems either.

No. fortuitously they are liberal... and it type of feels in reality Conservatives placed unqualified actors into positions of political ability. EDIT: (Ronnie Raygun, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Fred Thompson, Fred Grandy, George Murphy, Jesse Ventura.... etc etc. etc. Shall I proceed??)
