All he does is tell it like he sees it.
Listen carefully.
"If you want to see your FAVORITES on the show you have to vote for THEM."
Groups are out there trying to subvert the contest and he knows this and is trying to tell the audience how to overcome the problem. Vote for ALL of the people you want to stay on the show at least once. If everyone gets millions of votes then it is harder to stack the deck for any one candidate. The margin of victory will be less and less but the winners will have talent.

Yes, his comments are usually accurate. People are stupid for booing him, when he's the only one actually being honest, or sober, out of the 3 judges.
