It's a decent trade, especially if you need a top 20 starter. Temper your expectations of Dye, he had a career year and hit .300 for the second time in his life. Expect him to go back to reality, .290, 150Hits, 32HRs and 95RBI's with 140 games played. Manny is just Manny and you can't make fantasy predictions based on whether he is "happy" - he hits the ball. He just frustrates some people because he will strike out and walk back to the dugout like he doesn't care looking up at the scoreboard like he's trying to find out what time Desparate Housewives is on... but he is always consistent and you can bank on his numbers.
Bonderman should get you another 200k's. Every year he has reduced his ERA, WHIP, K's, Innings Pitched, BAA but hasn't gotten past the 14 win hurdle. With the changes on offense he should get over that mark this year and if he continues his trend of improvement could be up around the Zambrano draft area next year.

The trade should work since you are probably getting 2 top 15 players in each position for a top 10 in 1 position and the numbers are not extreme in Manny's favor. So over all you can improve your pitching and not lose more than a few hits or rbi's on offense.

I would probably do the trade even though Manny is a great player when he plays. I don't think Dye will have as good a year as last year but it still will be good. Bonderman is a great young pitcher on a pretty good team.

With the other two outfielders you have you will still have a good outfield even with Dye and not Manny.

Go for it!

Yes, Dye actually might do better than Manny this season and Bonderman is a good addition.

Why. Dye will not be as good and Bonderman is good but not really. Hold onto Manny. Try to do a one for one with a better pitcher....

I wouldnt trade. Because Jermaine Dye had a great year last year and i dont think he an do it again. Also whoever said Manny is alwasy hurt was wrong. I say you keep Manny. Good Luck in your league.

It looks like you should make the trade. But you also need to consider if you need to drop a player what is your total gain. If you are in a head to head league make the trade no matter what because Manny will miss time. But if its roto style understand Its hard to replace mannys numbers.

My recommendation would be if you are getting two players that meet your positional needs for one player make sure that they are better values than the player you are giving up and having to cut. If you think that you can put together a better deal than what you were originally offered then make a counter offer that might satisfy both sides' needs positionally
