The largest state of the USA is Alaska - with a total area of 633267sq miles, inc 571951sq miles of land.
The largest state of the contiguous US (ie the lower 48) is Texas, with a much smaller total area of 268581 sq miles , inc 261797 sq miles of land.
(The differences between total and land area are due to water surface features such as lakes etc..)

Land of the Midnight Sun...state of my birth...
Rhode Island...(kidding)...Alaska...
largest state, smallest population.

And if you get the chance to go to Anchorage...please for all that's holy go eat at "Simon and Seaforts." It is by far heaven on a plate.

(Just go at lunch when it's a little less expensive.)
