I have this problem too, but not all the time. Only sometimes. I hate it when I'm about to go to sleep, but my sister is in the room already sleeping so I can't turn on the light because she might wake up, so I have to take off my clothes in the dark. It creeps me out because I think of scary stuff like "there's something in the room with me other than my sister". I've noticed that I do that a lot so I try to dress up very quickly and get under the covers. But this doesn't happen everyday because when I realize that what I'm thinking is ridiculous, I repeat a word that I like in my mind so it will keep me from thinking about "something being in the room with me other than my sister". For example, the word "watermelon". I repeat that in my head once I step in the room until I get in bed.
It's all in your head, don't be scared. Keep repeating words until it goes away.

The clock will be turned an hour forward on the week after next´s Saturday/Sunday night, March 25th, won´t it? The summer time will begin then.
It is not so unusual to be afraid of the dark. I am a little, too. It is the unknown which frightens us. We have all kind of subconscious fears and sometimes our imagination gets the better of us. So we project these fears into the dark where there may be any kind of scary things, right? The dark represents the unknown, the subconscious, the other-world, the underworld.

Considering the clock goes forward an hour that would be good. Otherwise you will be two hours late. I don't like the dark either but I don't understand what that has to do with the clock. The fear of the dark is just a fear of the unknown. We can never tell what is there without being able to see it.
Just set your clock...all will be fine.

What you really fear is the unknown. The darkness is just an empty void. If you can't see, what else can't see? I like the dark for that reason. The playing field becomes level for all, except critters that have sonar or can see better in the dark.
But hey we move our clocks ahead 1 hour anyways. no worrys until fall.

I had that problem for a while. I usually don't react that way. But for some reason, this time when someone told me a strange story, the possibility seemed very real. I slept with the light on for a while.
But each time I recounted how many times an Innocent noise made me jump in the middle of the night, and how many times I was SURE it was something outside the normal, and it wasn't - I finally realized that whatever made the sounds - I could sleep through. (And thus, escape).

actually i think turning your clock forward gives you more daylight. that is why it is called daylight savings time. so turn you clock ahead so you have less time to be afraid.

Don't worry so much. How do you know the dark isn't just as afraid of you?
