Bought a 512 MB stick of 3200 DDR RAM to compliment my other 512 MB stick.

ALL SPECS ARE THE SAME BETWEEN THE TWO STICKS AND MY MOTHERBOARD CAN SUPPORT EVERYTHING.

That being said....my system worked fine before installing the new stick. After installation, my system would hang, halt and freeze at random times. After removing the new RAM stick, everything went back to normal.

Is this a case of just having a bad RAM stick? There is a warranty on it but the manufacturer is giving me a little bit of the run around.

following up on the first persons answer, take the new stick out, and move the old stick to the second slot, see if you have any issues, if you do its a motherboard problem witht he slot. if you move the new stick to the orignal sticks slot and have no problem then its not the stick.

It is most definitely an issue with the ram stick.

Try try using just the new one and see if you still get issues. If so, then you just need to contact either the place you bought it from or the memory manufacturer.
