Hello,

I went to the gas station three days ago and now my car is broke down! Found out that the gas station was pumping water in everyone's cars instead of gas.

Now, I am stuck with no car and have to pay almost 1100 dollars to get my car fixed. I don't have the money to pay for the damages.

How can I get the gas station to pay the damage? Contact a lawyer or what? Anyone out there that had problem like I do and what I should do? Please let me know.

Thank you all and have a great day! :)

File a complaint with the better business bureau and then take to small claims court. You will need to pay a filing fee, but you do not need a lawyer to do this. You can try siphoning out all the fuel then adding a gas dryer plus good gas to see if that will get your car going.

First you can ask them to pay, they have the option of agreeing to or declining. You can go small claims, but you still have to collect if you win and you need wittnesses. You can get an Attorney, again you have to collect even if you win and you will need wittnesses. Did this happen to a lot of people or just to a few or just you.?? You have to be able to prove what the problem was. You are going to have to tow your car to a garage and have the problem determined and get testimony from the mechanic. Is someone else suing the gas station, maybe you can get included with their lawsuit at a reduced price. You say you don't have money to fix the car, so I assume you don't have much for an attorney. And like you say, to top it all off you have no wheels to boot. Good luck , hope you get your car fixed and a little for hassles.

CD replace all your spark-plugs. there is a way to drain your tank but it sounds you already had a mechanic look at it. Contact the station and inform them you intend to bring charges if they don't fix your car. They may help. Man I am so aorry for what happened to you, it's a bummer. Contact an attorney if the station snubbs you.

before you make any allegations, you got to have solid proof,or they can file a liable suit on you.if you want fix your own car, then drop the tank and drain it and blow out the lines, also put some fuel injector cleaner in it ,to take care of the water thats left over.if i see a truck in the gas station filling up the tanks, ill drive off, because you can get dirt that way.

Go to small claims court and make sure you have the name address and receipt from the gas station. You would have to prove this case though. How do you know it was from this gas station? Try to have documentation proving your facts, and you do not need a lawyer for this.

Have tried calling the head office of the oil company? Do you have written proof? Also most newspapers have consumer reporters:
