I have heard a rumor that it will be a brand new character.

i think it would make the most sense for it to be mcgonagall(sp) I mean she seemed to be the closest person to dumbledore besides hagrid and i doubt hagrid would be the next headmaster. Plus I think she was right under the headmaster in rank. At least I hope it's her, because she would be a good person to take his place.

McGonaggall already is... At the end of Book 6 the Headmasters office is said to belong to her now.

I don't think it will matter much.

I dont think this book will revolve around the school as much as the others did.

It may be McGonagall, or it may be some suprise like Dumbledores brother.

Either way, i think the book is titled deathly Hallow because this book will be centered in Grodric's hallow, not Hogwarts.

Though, maybe a horcrux is in the room of requirement?

McGonagall...She has been the deputy headmistress since Harry's first year, so it is only common since that she'd be the next headmaster, or mistress as the case may be.

well at the end of book six Magonagal was the headmistrists But that was when there was a lot of confuison because of Dumbledore dying and the deatheaters invading and snape kill dumbledore who relly knows rather then jk weathere Magonagal will keep the job or weather she will apoint someone new and take her job back as transfigurerations tesacher although most people will probley not be very happy to atend classes becaue of the death and mourning of dumbledore

I think it's going to be McGonagall. She took over at the end of the 6th book and has always been Dumbledore's 2nd in command.

Prof. Mcgonagall (spelling).

I think McGonagall. She's kind of second in command, and therefore maybe next in succession.
