There are tons on here looking for homes but I don't see any in CA. I would contact a rescue in your area and see if they can help with contacting one of the rescues with ferrets. Rescue have networks for transportation. Someone will help you get a ferret............../..

i have nothing against rescues, but they make it very hard to adopt a animal nomatter whichone, we tryed for ever to adopt a parrot, but its almost inpossible, so i got a african grey baby and couldn't give a older one a good loving home,i always tought it were important to find another home for the rescued animals, but i think i was wrong, so hopefully i will find a breeder somewhere here for Ferret so i can make my daughter happy and the Ferret will get a nice home

I wouldn't think you would find a ferret in CA. They are illegal so be very careful. I have heard horror stories of people being caught with them. I own two for just that reason... The owner moved to CA and was scared straight and gave them to us. Apparently ferret ownership is not taken lightly there. Be very careful if you do get one. If someone reports you they can seize the ferret (where they will then put it down) and they will fine you.
Also, as a side note, I would really research ferrets before getting one. They need a lot of medical attention later in life. And need to be able to roam your house freely for a few hours a day. They are a HUGE responsibility for a kid. Know what your getting into, thats all. If you still want one after that, try going into neighboring states. I know there is a rescue in Reno (Renoferrets.com I believe).
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

They need a lot of medical attention later in life. Be prepared for large Vet bills and lots of medication (Not all but some do need this later in life) they need supervision when out atleast 2-4 hors per day.

And they are illegal in most of CA. there is legislation pending to change that from what I've heard.

I could be wrong but ferret ts were outlawed in a few areas and I think Ca. was one of the states. I used to live in Arizona and had 5 ferretts that I rescued. They were part of my crazy family for many years. Check with the State Veternarians office or even your local vet. If you are allowed to have one and you haven't owned a ferrett before, prepare yourself with lots of reading on their care. they have sensitive digestive systems. They are very good at getting into holes in walls, dryer vents and stealing kids toys and stuff. When young they do have a tendency to bite and as of 1996 there was no valid rabies vaccine for ferretts. If they were to bite someone they had to be euthanized and tested. Ask lots of questions of your vet. regarding vaccines.

im pretty sure that ferrets are outlaws in CA. i have a ferret, and i got her at Petsmart( I live in AL), so:
1. find out if they are legal in your area.
2. if yes, do as much research as possible on them before buying, (trust me they are a handful :))
3. Then check your local pet stores, and see if they sell them.

good luck, ferrets are wonderful pets!!
