I just went to the doctor yesterday and he said that I was 75% effaced and 2 cm dialated, and that my baby has completely dropped. He said it could be days from now til my due date (4 weeks away). Has anyone else had similar statistics?? And when did you go into labor? this is my first baby

Please don't put too much stock into what the doctor has told you in this instance. For one, yes, you may be farther along than you think. Due dates often are just estimates to as close as they can get. You can walk around for weeks at 2-3 cm. I was 3 cm. and 80 percent for about two weeks before my son was born. My doc. kept telling me "oh, any day now, any day now." Well, that didn't work. It's especially unpredictable when it's your first. Just try to keep relaxed and think good thoughts! Good luck.

You could go into labor at any time. That baby is going to come when ever he feels like it. It could be today or weeks from now.
With my preg. I was 2 cm on Monday. My last day of work was Thursday. I went into labor at 1:30am on Saturday. He was 4 days early. The only reason I think he finally came out was because I stopped working.

With my first, I was a 2 for 2wks before she was born. I'm now at 38wks with baby number 2 and found out today that I also am at a 2 and about 70% effaced. But unfortunately, like I said, last time it took 2 weeks to get anything going so we'll see! Good luck to you!

With my second child I was around your stats at 36wks, and the baby was born at 38wks. Like the dr said, it could be any time in the next few weeks...only the baby can decide when to make an appearance. Good luck!
