The same as the difference between the spirit and the body... The brain is tangible, while the mind is not. One is active doing, while the other is active thinking. The brain just does its job, while the mind can be influenced and changed. It takes a blunt object to hurt the brain, but only a sharp tongue to hurt the mind. The mind can bounce back, while the brain cannot. Once the brain is gone, the body stops functioning, but the body can still function when the mind is gone.

The most interesting diffence I have seen in scientific writing is that there is the brain and mind is what the brain does. That is, brain is noun and mind is verb. There is THE brain but what it is doing is mind (no "the" in front of it). Like what the legs do is walk.

The brain is physical tissue whereas the mind refers to metal capability or , if you will, the active use of the brain.
Think of it this way, liberals haven't lost their brains - the physical tissue is probably still up there.......
