I've been labelled down to do teaching as part of a work experience scheme. I chose to do it so I'm happy with it but the more I think about it the more i think "what have i let myself in for" lmao. It's in a primary school so it won't be so bad i guess. Any tips at how i can make a good teacher for that week? (only doing it for a week).. thanks x

I recently had a placement in a primary school working with 3-6 year olds, you just have to be energetic, good at reinforcing rules, and always always congratulate the kids on doing something well, it helps their confidence and well in the long run follow your demands, and respect you as a authority figure... moral development is really important at this stage so make sure you teach them what is right from wrong.. Also always have a smile on your face and speak to every pupil equally kids at that stage of life are really aware of whats going on around them and they will notice if one child is gettin more attention than other, some deal with this by misbehaving others just remain quiet and can become shy and quiet. Oh and keep your head away from their heads, some of them will be crawling :-S, and reserve your energy lol, they are constantly on their feet and will expect you to do the same! If a problem child starts to act up take them to the side, ask whats wrong with them, if they are just being silly just tell them how it is, if they carry on crying well ignore them cause they are just doing it for attention or put them in the naughty corner... basically get involved in all the games, even building blocks!
other than that im sure you'll do great! just be yourself x

connect with your students so they are not bored... and don't be nervous... cause kids can tell and they will take advantage
