I play with her all I can, singing, reading, rolling etc, but sometimes I run out of ideas for fun things to do. It is freezing where I am from so I am housebound at the moment. When I can get out this is not a problem but I am running out of ideas and she is a very active baby.

give her something to bang on and she will entertain herself i try making different noises to make my daughter laugh strangely enough it amused her when the dog threw up (gross but true) i also just lay there and let her explore my face and hands and tell her things like thats an eye, thats mommy's eye. i also play jiggle the baby where i stand her up and let her jiggle around like shes dancing. or monster mommy where i growl at her and make faces (this sounds mean but she doesnt get scared) and act like im going to chew on her hands and feet she loves it

I am right there with you! My little girl is 6 months old and also very active (crawling, jumping, everything but actually walking) and I too sometimes find that I'm out of new things to do with her during those cold winter days. We also do lots of singing and reading. One of my favorite games to play is peekaboo. We take a blanket and hold it up in front of her and then pull it down and say PEEK!! She loves that of course. Another fun thing to do is "paint" with baby food. Let her paint her high chair tray with a colored baby food like plums and encourage her to explore the texture. Then when she's done she can have fun splashing in the tub! It's also lots of fun to have the cups with holes in the bottom for her to play with in the tub. Everything is a learning adventure when they are that little :)

Thankfully I have an in-home daycare and have several other babies that my little girl can interact with, but I get a lot of my ideas from this book:

You actually need to stop playing with her constantly. She is going to become a very very dependent baby who can't entertain herself. I would recommend putting her in a playyard or exersaucer alone, wtih toys, for a while a couple times a day. If she cries, let her. She needs to learn to self-entertain sometimes and not depend on you.

they love everything. let her hit keys on your computer on a empty file and just mess around, or do the same if you have a piano. also they love looking at something that moves or makes a noise or just shinny like let em' look at a huge ring or something that he won't eat. or an ice cube, mirror. something that is fun. well its great that you watch her all this time. studies show that a baby becomes smarter when she listens to Beethoven when shes a baby so just go on itunes and buy a song or to and play it for her.

Babies this age are easily entertained. A couple of suggestions to add to your list....
show them magazines or grocery ads with lots of colorful photos, ball or toys to push around in a safe area & 20 minutes of baby einstein if you need a quick break.

babies really don't need to b "entertained" all day
they're learning about the world around them and that's exciting enough
create a safe area where she can explore - filling and dumping a bucket of plastic toys, board books, tactile experiences, finger puppets, etc. while you supervise.
let her lead for a while, she'll occupy her time with things that interest her

hope this helps
