Study on your own, in your spare time, and get a GED.

Go to your state's website for the Department of Education. There should be a plan there for adult education. I'm not in Michigan, but in my state the total $$$ you will spend is about 75 dollars. First you will take a GED preparation test. That will tell you what areas you need to work on to pass the real test. You will be directed to web-based instruction in the areas you need. Then, if you are ready, you can sign up to go take the test at a center. Another good resource would be to call the counseling center at a community college--they deal with this situation oftern. Good luck, you won't regret it.

Get a GED (general education diploma)

You can get study books for the GED exam at bookstores, or the library.

Go to the local High School, go to the office, and ask them for a schedule of when the next test is given (along with the location and registration cost).

good luck!

Some areas offer night school - a non GED program where you get an actual HS diploma. Or, you can see if there are any courses offered online.
