Who else thinks we should start having three-day-weekends? I just think it's a little uneven. We only get TWO days of rest after a FIVE day work week? Let's even it up as much as we can! Who's with me?

Since so many people do get that my question is mainly just for laughs and I realize our economy would go straight down the drain, I'll reword the question:

"Wouldn't it be great if we could have three-day-weekends without worrying about the economy sinking into a depression?"

How's that?

Sorry, that should be "don't* get" not "do"

Yeah. Friday doesnt really count seeing as you still gotta work during the day and then most are too tired to do much that night but most go out anyhow. So Saturday and Sunday party time and Monday recovery day. That way if you wanna you can party when you get off Friday evenings as well.

Yes, it is an important issue. Most workers can work the extra 2 or 3 hours a day, then have more quality time with family and friends on their "off" time. I think more employees should be able to work from home also, but there would be a mandatory time that must be spent in the office in order to provide social interactions, etc.

Sure, 3-day weekends would be nice...that is if you can afford to cut your salary by one day a week; or if you want to work a million hours in 4 days to make up for the lost day then be too tired to enjoy your long weekends; or have the school year last forever because you only go to school 4 days a week; or wait forever for a package to be delivered because they only deliver on working days; or when you get arrested on a Thursday you have to wait until Monday to see the judge because it's over the 'weekend'; or you have to wait forever to get an appointment because they are booked up because they only have 4 days to work with; etc. etc.
3 day weekends would be wonderful...yeah, right.

I'm with you, but then they will extend the work day from 8 hours probably to 9 or 9 1/2 hours

i want a 3 day weekend, but i don't want to make up the 8 hours during the 4 days i would work, and i wouldn't want to make less money. can i have a raise?

i don't think it would work for the economy. we would be less productive, wouldn't have as much disposable income, and the country would become poorer. but i want 3 day weekends.

something you have been wanting to do, visit the flicks, take a walk interior the woods, clean out your closets, take the donate-ables to charity. Have a lazy day, do not something, stay on your pj's all day. supply the canines a tub, lease some video clips you have been wanting to observe. Order chinese language and invite some acquaintances over for Pictionary. purely make specific to coach secure practices in something you do. Get a lot of sleep, you do not prefer to return to artwork, unwell.

Well the truth is, no matter how long the weekend is, we will always want more. If it was 3 days, we would want it for 4 days, if it was 4 days, we'd want it for 5 days and so on

France tried it and their economy still hasn't recovered. It sounds like a good idea to me, but all the other nations didn't follow suit and the businesses in France weren't competitive as a result.
