Thanks for bringing this to the limelight, I've never heard this before, everyone says "vote for Barrack because he's black" what a worthless argument.
But having experience running a large administration or operation really should be a pre-requisite for being president. Suppose he cracks under the pressure of managing such a large operation, or just lacks the skills to run something like that? It could be a problem. If Barrack had been a successful mayor or governor, or had a little more political experience, he'd be a shoe-in candidate.

I like Obama very much. I am primarily supporting Hillary Clinton, but I would like to see him as her VP. But I have to disagree with you about his experience. He only lived in a Muslim country until he was 10. I don't know about you, but when I was 10, I was more concerned with playing outside than with observing the politics around me. He has a good background on the poverty issue, that is true. He has a head start in race relations, but he was a privileged young man who grew up in Hawaii after the age of 10, and was educated in private schools. This does not exactly mirror the typical challenges of being an African-American in this country. He is a babe in the woods of American politics. There is no way to deny that, but I think he has many excellent qualities that this country could benefit from. I honestly think if he got the experience of being VP for eight years, even four, he would be unbeatable when he decided to run on his own. He is a very valuable citizen of our country and I think he will do great things for us in his lifetime. But I'm afraid that our Presidential political process may overwhelm him, especially when it comes to the debates. If he can survive the debates intact, then I may change my mind about his readiness for the top office.

He was never close to his paternal family and hardly visited with them the last time being last year.
His being black does not automatically give him insight into the "black" mentality
He has had more public service experience than he has been given credit for.
He started as a community activist in 1983, state senator (7
years) and now U.S. Senator for 2 years.
During his seven years in the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. YES HELPED TO PRODUCE OVER $100 MILLION IN TAX CUTS IN 3 YEARS IN IL. This fact will undercut any barbs thrown about him being a " tax and spend liberal' although I am sure the right wing pleebs will still say it.
Obama also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases. This helped cover police in the event there was any question about abuse by the authorities and would also try to ensure that no person who went to death row went there unjustly.
Reviewing Obama's career in the Illinois Senate, a February 2007 article in the Washington Post noted his ability to work effectively with both Democrats and Republicans, and to build bipartisan coalitions. In his subsequent campaign for the U.S. Senate, Obama won the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, whose officials cited his "longtime support of gun control measures and his willingness to negotiate compromises," despite his support for some bills that the police union had opposed
I for one, am also tired of all the so called "experienced" ones that have touted their track record. If they were so experienced, they all should have had the balls to stand up and say no when Bush decided to take us to war in Iraq when that country had absolutely nothing to do with the attack on this country. Barack Obama has supported the war in Afghanistan but has from the very start said that invading Iraq would be a mistake. He can ask questions and know how to take advice when necessary.

As Wings pointed out so nicely, he had and has no real experience in anything other than petty Liberal causes. The person running this country needs to be a strong leader willing to keep the Liberals at arms length and do what needs to be done and not worry about what anyone else or the world thinks. He needs to have goals that are in line with main stream America, not the Liberal left and other radicals. He should have years of experience in politics so he knows how to get things done instead of becoming a political puppet of the left wing gestapo. Basically at this time he's a gullable naieve sheep in diapers, metaphorically speaking.

Just because you have Muslim relatives it does not a negotiator or problem solver make.
Organizing a anti poverty program certainly does not make you an authority on poverty. Organizing a birthday party does not make me a specialist on birthdays.
Just because he is part black, it does not give him the in on racial issues.
He has enough experience under his belt to barely call him a novice.
This is not home room President, and there are more issues in this country than what concerns just Muslims and blacks. That's a little too narrow minded, don't you think?

Yeah, you'll never hear the "lack of experience" card played against Giuliani even though he's never held a position even remotely related to foreign relations... the Senate Committee on which Obama serves, by the way.

The experience that I look for is executive experience - either from being a governor of a state, the mayor of a large city or a CEO of a large company.
Knowledge alone or the experience you cite does not qualify anybody to be the president (CEO) of the country.
He should run for governor of Illinois and then if he succeeds at that run for president later.

No. there'll be debates between Obama and McCain. definite, Obama has grew to become down McCain's 10 proposals. whether, a actuality this is in basic terms too often skipped over by technique of McCain supporters is that McCain has grew to become down Obama's 5 proposed debates, which may be extra presidential debates than the different election in the commonplace era. McCain needs those debates on his words and stipulations. He needs Obama to alter his time table for him. Why is McCain pushing for the debates to be on his words and stipulations? shouldn't this be a mutual contract? definite, it would. that is been reported that McCain isn't sturdy on the rostrum, yet Obama is. It has additionally been reported that McCain is a extra effectual city hall sort debater than Obama. This seems to be a collection up of varieties by technique of McCain considering the fact that he needs to call the photographs. he will in all probability ensure the objective marketplace is done of McCain supporters, Republicans, and Obama haters. Obama isn't a fool. he won't walk into McCain's "domicile court docket" together with his safeguard down. it particularly is a clever circulate by technique of Obama. there'll be debates as quickly as the two one among them settle their modifications. The debates could be set upon mutual words and stipulations. in addition to, McCain goaded Obama into occurring his foreign places holiday. Obama's holiday grew to become right into a great fulfillment. Does McCain decide to goad Obama right into a debate? He may be apologetic approximately what he needs for. McCain may be the extra effectual city hall sort debater, yet Obama is the extra effectual orator of the two!

Experience is always something that comes up. Democrats in 2000 said that Gore should be elected for his experience as the vice president. How was a Governor from Texas supposed to compare. They said the same thing in 1996 when President Clinton was up for re-election against a Looooooooong time government representative Bob Dole.
How soon we forget and play the same game over and over again.
