He probably will if he gets hungry enough. Assuming he has cleaned up all the other algae and still doesn't take care of the glass, well, who can really get inside the mind of a pleco LOL

Plecos aren't really herbivores. They will eat algae, but eat missed fish food as well. It possible you are over feeding the rest of your fish, and he's filling up on fish food off the bottom. You might try a real herbivore like either the Oto, or siamese algae eater. Also a mystery/apple snail might be a good addition. (Avoid the common/chinese algae eater.) It you add another pleco, Oto, or SAE be sure you have 2 separate places for them to hide. Pleco can get territorial.

PS- Note if a pleco completely cleans his tank of algae he is likely hungry, and needs additional food. (I like use sliced broccoli stems, and crushed peas but sliced zucchini, and the like works.)

Clean off most of the glass so you can enjoy your tank, but if you feel your pleco may run out of food you can purchase algea wafers b/c they love those.

That's all up to him. You may just have to do that one on your own.
