The part of Cape Cod that looks most like the old song is the part from Chatham to Provincetown, where the National Seashore Park has limited developement to small pockets, with the remainder well preserved. Also, the Cape Cod Regional Historic District runs along the northern half of Cape Cod (for about 20 miles along route 6a), and is the biggest historic district in the US. The Cape Cod charm remains.

My Aunt & Uncle have retired to the Cape, and own a bed and breakfast in Wellfleet which we frequent once a year. (Blue Heron Cove) We sit out on the deck, sip wine and enjoy the view across cape cod bay.

I think there are parts of the cape that look the same, and many parts that are very, very different. I think the cottege size is the biggest difference, when we used to go when I was little, most cotteges were tiny shacks on the beach, now they are luxurious multi-million dollar homes.

Still love it though.

I used to own a house at the cape and sold it. The cape is over rated. It is beautiful but if you've seen it once then theres no need to go back. The cape is only meant for retiree's. Like Florida. But once all the tourists get there then it sucks.
