I got my nails done yesterday, spent time on hair and makeup, dressed nice, professional, all for a job interview in a jewelry store. When I got there the woman refused to even come out and see me. What's that all about?

Dont let this bother you too much and move on.
Unfortunately, when companies place job advertisements they can not discriminate.
They can not say they want a man or women (in most cases) and color, age, or height and weight. They have to leave these jobs open to all.
But they can discretely discriminate by not talking to you or telling you the job has been filled. They can get in trouble for this if reported but it is hard to prove. They can say they were busy and such.
Maybe you looked too young, too short, or had long nails and would not fit a job typing all day. Whatever the reason, if she took one look at you and judged you then you do not need this job trust me. If you got it you would be miserable.
I do know Jewelry store want rich looking employees. What constitutes rich? Polished, expensive look, conceded, and business only. Walk into a Jewelry store and you will see what I mean. I get turned off immediately because these people are not down-to-earth everyday people. They sometimes have to appear as they are not really, what stress? Just to sell a person a watch or ring. How narrow minded, but true.
Move on, maybe you deserve better.

Well I would call up and ask to speak with the manager directly. If you had a scheduled interview and she did not see you, you have a right to know why. If she refuses, I would ask for the information of her boss and contact them. If it is a chain jewelry store, look them up online and I am sure you can get some corporate information. Contact their HR department and form a complaint against the store and or manager and expain in detail the situation. It should not have to escalate to this point, I am sure she will talk to you when you call. If you feel it might have anything to do with race, age, ethnicity, gender etc find out if they are an equal opportunity employer and if so, speak to a lawyer.

That has nothing to do with how you, especially if you were scheduled for an interview and showed up on time. I wouldn't want to work with her as she is very rude. Move on, next job interview.

well, maybe that person was really busy. but some courtesy would've been nice. she should've at least seen you, maybe that way she could've suggested another time to meet. but i woulndn't go back to that place. how rude.
