The ability to be photogenic comes from INSIDE. People that are confident, that are happy, that feel good about themselves come out very well in photos. Are you shy around the camera? Do you worry before taking a photo that it's going to come out bad anyway? These are just a couple of things that can make you not put out your best "aura" in front of the lens. So the next time you are going to take a photo do this - think about something that just makes you happy, that makes you feel good. Think about something that perks you up. I guarantee that the photo will come out great!! Don't be afraid of the camera....

I don't believe that anyone is un-photogenic. I believe some people can be camera shy, or not confident in their self. Just make sure you have a great smile, not fake- white teeth help- and don't focus so much on the camera but just being yourself. it's like if you were trying to convey your feelings to someone but could not speak or use sign language. love the camera and it will love you. try it and you'll see!! Good Luck!

To be honest, you never look good on a picture unless you've had it professionally done as in a modelling shoot... A good photographer, lighting, make up, ect... That saying about people looking much better looking in the flesh is true you know ;).... Also when it comes to themselves, people tend to pay attention to the tinyist things about them on a picture, try to look at your photo in general alround.
But if you want some tips, why not pose in front of the mirror and see which look suits you best...Make sure your make-up is light and freshly applied... Pictures really show up heavy or unfresh make up. And remember to feel and look confident!
Hope this helps :)

no one is un-photogenic. you are probably shy around a camera, whether you know it or not. i used to be this way before my mom became a photographer, and you could not get a good picture of me. i was simply not used to cameras. now, cameras are going all over the place all the time, and they're just a part of my life now.

Are you unphotogenic or do you just not recognize yourself. When you look in the mirror, it is the reverse of how others see you, so you just may be unaccustomed to the difference. Lighting pretty much determines how good a person looks, too. Lighting from below is generally unflattering. As well as camera angles that are too low. Try to take pictures of yourself from different angles and pick your best one. Then replicate that when you're taking pictures. I hope this helps.

everyone can look good with good photographers, good lighting, good make up, good hair, nice complimenting clothes, healthy teeth, a smile, being comfortable and a bit of training on posing

I am definitely one of those people......but of course, I'm so "fugly" how could I possibly expect a photo to make me look good! Consequently, I'm usually the one taking the pictures.

well, you have to have confidence in yourself to look good in the first place. you have to be happy. some tips: make sure your chin is not too high, and not too low. but of this problems look weird and will draw bad attention. make sure your face is not shiny. and have your smile done.. look in the mirrow and remember how your face feels when you smile the way you like. hopefully this helps!
