I never had this problem with my son, he is now 2. She used to eat just about anything we gave her but now she refuses. Dr said its just a phase but its just weird to me I guess seeing that my son never acted like that. I've even tried the infant feeders but all she wants is formula. Snarls her nose at everything else and cries unless she gets the bottle. I know I may just be an over worrying mother as usual but its still weird and wonder any suggestion to get her to eat something besides formula. I know shes not going to waste away I just need a suggestion to get her to eat something else. Anybody?

I have a finicky eater too and she is the same age. She used to like some veggies, now she likes NONE of them. That is why doctors say, that breastmilk/formula are the MAIN things you feed a baby prior to a year and that solids are extra. I've heard that this is a finicky phase and things iron themselves out when she is able to self feed and eat a wider range of things like cheese, milk, etc. (all things that have a higher fat/calorie percentage)

I also take comfort in the fact that a baby's nutritional requirements for fat and protein are much lower than ours. They only need 10g vs our 50.

I say make sure she gets all of her formula and just retry. Or wait til she self feeds, which is soon. I have rarely heard of a baby still wanting to eat nothing but milk (formula or breast) at two years old :) Good luck!

Honestly, if she gets hungry she will eat. I know it is hard to let your baby cry for something she wants but soon formula will be a distant memory as she turns one and starts real milk. Then she will NEED to eat something else to get the nutrition she needs. Another thing you can try is transitioning from bottle to a sippy cup. She isn't too young for that. My son started a sippy at 6and a half months and did fine. It was really hard at first and we didn't enforce it until he was about a year but it worked for us. Good luck and don't give up, every baby eventually will eat big people food!!

My daughter who is now almost 22, did the same thing, I breast fed her for 13 months with supplemental formula. I tried everything know to man to get that girl to eat. My husband's Vietnamese aunt was babysitting here while I worked, anyway to make a long story short, she got her to eat. She cooked rice and little bits of meat to a very soft consistency and offered them to her and she ate! It wasn't very long after that the SHE threw the bottle away. Give it time, she will eat. Keep offering food to her. Good Luck.

relax, they are just kid, they don't need a reason to do something, and the more you don't like what they do the more fun they have, may be it is too hot for her to eat cooked things and she wants something cooled, make the food in little peaces and put some formula on them, like salsa on chips, but don't worry after all she is 8 months you have 17 + years left. Have fun.

I would simply stop giving her formula till after she's eaten some food. She might be hungry for a day, but she'll soon get motivated to eat.

Other tricks--pinch baby's nose to get her to open her mouth. Insert food. Stick bottle in immediately to get her to swallow the food. It works. I do not allow m;y babies to choose not to eat.
