Why among Asian Country, Philippines are the home of Best Singers compare to other Asian Country?

Actually, I have been to most Asian countries and I can tell you that the Chinese are almost all very good singers. They almost all have Karaoke (same with the Japanese). I frequently go to the KTV clubs in Shanghai with my business associates and all of the women and men, sing very well. The best Asian singer I have ever heard was from Taiwan. Beautiful voice. So...It just seems you have a preference. It might also be because the Pinays understand English.

I think the Southeast Asians are the best singers in Asia or maybe in the world.

I listened to Thai, Filipino, Indonesian, Malaysian songs and they all have own originality and good voice. Some years back, an Indonesian singer and a Malaysian singer won awarda for having the best vocal in international events.

I'm sorry to say that Chinese singers are more like posers and no originality. They follow the westerners etc. Just go to their websites and you'll see endless list of them.

As for Indians, i am not sure.

I don't know, but before American Idol notice us (Finalist - Jasmine Trias, Camille Velasco, Sway Pineda & Aj Tabaldo) & World Championship of Performing Arts, Filipinos are already performing in Broadway & West End even at Miss Saigon which is suppose to be about Vietnam is being ruled by Filipino singers. And even in Singing competition in Asia Filipinos never went home empty handed.

i'm not sure if they're really the best. other asian countries have pretty good singers too...

however, i did notice that filipinos tend to go farther in american idol (i don't know how else to compare). i believe that season 4 was the only time a filipino did not get into the top 24. and this season aj tabaldo made it farther than paul kim but american-indian sanjaya is still around (um yeah, whatever).

There are a lot of Filipino good singers, however, your statement is contestable that they are the best.

We may appreciate them more because they sing good english songs. However, its other asian counterparts could also sing well in their native languages.

Talent could not be measured by intellect alone.

I have lots of Indonesian friends and I live right here now. They made some good songs but I don't agree that they are better. Theirs is still in its infancy stage. Otherwise, they could have penetrated the American Idol and the Western scene...something that many Filipinos have done time and again. You want a few names?

I agree with bogs. Come to think of it, that Leo guy is filipino, I think he's from Cebu or somewhere in the south? Yet he pretends to be less ignorant and well travelled by saying indonesians are a lot better than his own people just so to agree with the well travelled foreigners who answered before him... newsflash, you sound dumber by answering like that. Bogs has an excellent point, if other asians are way better than us when it comes to music, then how come they aren't as recognized internationally like us, huh???

Because that's what you prefer. Of Asian countries, I happen to enjoy Chinese and Japanese singers, but that's just my preference.
