It's hard to deal with. You might want to try eating several small meals and snacks a day. Sometimes the baby is pushing up on your stomach and that can create heartburn, especially if you overeat. You could try milk. And try laying down on your left side -- it's supposed to move everything around and aide digestion. Good luck!

I know how you feel! I felt like even water caused me heartburn.
I would just try to eat more smaller meals a day instead of bigger ones. No spicy food.
Try to figure out what you ate and avoid until after the baby is born. I know Tums get old, but keep taking them. Sometimes I would take a couple before I would eat and that seemed to help.
I wish I could give you more helpful information. And you may even have heartburn several weeks after the baby is born. It takes a while for your body to go back to its normal self.
Oh, I did find bananas helpful for some reason.

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://bitly.im/aMGzK
The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.
heartburn the most common symptom of acid reflux disease (also known as gastroespohageal reflux disease, or GERD). Heartburn feels like a burning pain in the center of the chest. It is caused by acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. is a symptom of acid reflux disease (GERD) Also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Propping yourself up in bed is a good idea. Milk MAY work, but dairy products irritate some people's digestion, so you could make the situation worse with that. I find plain tonic water to be helpful with heartburn, but I never tried it when I was pregnant.

Just like the previous person said milk milk milk. I drink milk before bedtime because that's when I get heartburn the most. I also elevated my pillows and that helped more as well! Good luck!

Never tried it but I've heard that seltzer water can help. I've also heard that milk can make it worse (my sis in law was chugging gallons of milk not realizing it was making heartburn worse not better).
Have you tried the other flavors of Tums? I know they get old, but if you can rotate through the fruits, berries, and mints it helps.

Yeah milk works to prevent it before he happens, but if you take it in the heat of the burn youll probabaly get sick. At least i did. Basically what i found worked was using 3 pillows at night so i was elevated not flat and i tried to eat some bread or something bland before bed that way my stomach wasnt empty so there was less acid. Hope you feel better and congrats!
