Yes, sometimes soccer feels so boring and so long (imagine 22 men on the field passing a ball among them for 2x45 minutes, and finally kicking it out of the field instead of scoring goals!). But sometimes a soccer match can be very interesting when you watch two teams, attacking each other with solid teamwork and pacey attacks created by very skillful players, and finally score goals!
Usually, we cannot see many goals/ scores in soccer match just like in other sports, just like basketball. It is because naturally, it is not easy to score a goal in a football match. Imagine, the field is so large, you are just one of 22 players, and you cannot score with your hands-it means you have to be in the right moment, right place, control the ball with the right technique, meanwhile keep your balance! Things are going worse for score-lovers like you, because recently modern soccer become more and more defensive (maybe managers are more and more afraid to lose and to be sacked?).
But in the other hand, isn't it the scarcity of goal that makes a goal is very very precious in a football match? Every goal is a combination of technique, determination, and luck. Every goal, whether it is 'beautiful' or 'stupid', is worth to watch again. And you see, every player is very happy after scoring every single goal. He will celebrate with his own style, even sometimes pose in front of cameras!
Moreover, if you are a football lover, in a soccer match you will not watch the goals only. You will watch HOW the teams create an attack or buld the defense, HOW players dribble the ball, do tricks (you'd better watch Cristiano Ronaldo's stepover!), deliver passes, and shoot on goals. You can also watch harsh tackles, divings, theatrical play, punches, headbutts (OK, these are not what we expect in a soccer match, but sometimes it makes soccer attract people's interest, right?). Even some people try to analyze formation and strategies of every team, as if they are the coach! Newspapers also often expose non-technical issues, such as player transfers, management changes, even political issues behind a match. You can hardly find this in other kind of sports. Soccer is very lively, because it is a universal sport. Everybody can play, whether they are in rich countries in Europe or poor countries in Africa.

How is soccer boring to watch if the match only lasts around 90 minutes. Baseball games are on average twice as long as soccer matches. I am sure there would be more scoring in soccer if the games were as long as they are in baseball. You do realize they are still some soccer scores that are higher than baseball scores. You might think soccer is boring because they don't use steroids and other performance enhancing drugs like baseball players do.

ok... so you're saying that soccer is more boring than say baseball or football? I don't think that is true.
I personally don't give a crap about watching any kind of sports. I'm not much of a sports person, but I like the idea of playing rather than watching.
Then there's golf... and some people like watching that... now if there's a boring sport, that is it.

the only people who think soccer is boring are those people who don't understand the game. Scoring is only a small part of it. They don't understand the beauty of the attack setting up right before your eyes, and then being thwarted at the last second by an alert defense. The battle in the midfield and on top of the box is where its at. It makes the goals so much more satisfying. Scoring isn't cheapened like in Americanized sports. You have to earn it, and when you do, it's so much sweeter.

Yes is so boring that every country in the world plays it and that there's a true WORLD CUP for it where more than 200 countries play it to qualify for the cup and when Brazil and France played the final back in 98 only 2 thirds of the world were watching it. NBA champs?? always get eliminated by argentina etc. MLB world champs?? never seen them play against other countries.
