Fish DO in fact have hairs--generally very very small ones, located primarily in the lateral line sensory organ (that faint stripe that you can see running down the side of most fish). The hair cells function in groups, making up neurmasts which allow the fish to detect conditions and events in the surrounding water. These hairs, however, are not like the ones on human or mammalian bodies, though both humans and other mammals possess sensory hair cells (inner ear, etc).

No fish have true hair like humans. And in fact it would not be good for them, as it would not keep them warm underwater and would drag as they swam along. However there are stories of hairy fish. Most of these are legends, but a few fish like the Mirapinna, a frogfish and even a nurse shark can appear hairy. These hairs are outgrowth of their scales. Though maybe we could call them hairs; did our hairs evolve from scales?

Actually they had hair but it was a B&%&$# to style so they keep it shaved off.

That's why they travel in schools (barber schools)..think about it.
