If anyone watched Access Hollywood last night, they showed a video (which has since been deleted from YouTube) with Paris Hilton saying extremely racist and disrespectful remarks, including using the "N" word. There have been several other celebrities that have made such remarks and the media wasn't going to let it fly. Why let it with Paris Hilton? I've heard that "people don't take her seriously, she is too much of a cartoon character" as an excuse not to hold her responsible. Is it just me, or should this not just be let go?

She should, but I doubt she will

It should not be let go. Paris Hilton doesn't really do anything that helps society. She has no real talent, however she tries to act and sing.
I mean, all she was was born into a rich family ( however I do find the antics on the Simple Life very amusing ).
Since she's in the spot light, shouldn't she know better than to make such rude remarks?
She owes an apology.

Fer sure,,, Paris does not have to apologize for being Paris. She cannot do any wrong,,, be it driving under the influence, hit and run, contributing to the delinquency of a minor at a club, passing out STDs like candy or haviong strange relations with a purse dog,,, plueeeze,,, its Paris,,, and don't forget to watch the new season of The Simple Mind on Foxated (with Paris) Network

There are other people that said more disrespect and hurtful things, but the media championed these people as champions of 'freedom of speech and expression'.

Disrespect and hurtful things are disrespect and hurtful things, no matter how 'polite', 'subtle', 'witty', and so on.

So, unless there's a political motive, don't expect the media to grill or not to grill Paris.

As for "people don't take her seriously, she is too much of a cartoon character".

Well, them what if a cartoon character murdered someone?

I utterly fail to understand why anybody takes anything said by any "celebrity" seriously. They are nothing other than playactors, singers and spoiled brat children living off daddy's money, who mostly wouldn't be able to hold down a real job if their lives depended on it.

Maybe if we'd stop caring what these dysfunctional people think and say, they'd just shut up and do their silly jobs.

So few people care what Hilton says or does (other than the "entertainment" TV shows) that I can't even see why anyone would care about this, either. She's a joke. She's not even smart enough to realize how embarrassed she should be that she even exists!!

Paris had only done one thing in her life be born rich. Who the hell cares what that stupid cow thinks. She must have some nasty stuff going on down below. I am sure she has slept with a few Ns so nothing new for her.

we all want her to be dumb and provocative. words like that simply flow naturally off her lips. If she had to apoligize for every slur she makes, she'd spend half of each day saying, "I'm sorry". And I don't want my Paris Hilton to apologize for anything.

First of all that tape is almost a year old, if anyone should apologize its Access Hollywood, for being so desperate . Paris get paid millions to for product role outs, and club appearences. I doubt if any AFRICAN AMERICANS have ever hired or could ever afford to hire her .
