Make the trade. You have an unknown quotient in Matsuzaka. Oswalt is a more proven commodity, and Posada holds his own at catcher (plus it helps hitting in a stacked Yankees lineup). After you make the trade, peddle Matthews off for a young outfielder, or try to pick someone up like Arizona's Chris Young or Chicago's Ryan Sweeney.

Horrible trade...dont do it!. You give up a top 5 outfielder and a pitcher that while problably not as good as Oswalt still was pretty dominant in the WBC (against mostly ML players) for Oswalt (the only quality player being offered in return).Matthews may get suspended and isnt very good even if he doesnt (1 good season after being a career backup?) and a 35 year old catcher? Guerrero has put up dominating numbers (fact: his WORST offensive year besides 2003 when he was injures this was his line.... .307 ave, 32 HR and 108 RBI....last year they said he is declining? .329 ave, 33 HR, 116 RBI and 15 SB) Matthews had a career year and his numbers were .313 ave, 19 HR 79 RBI, and 10 SB....and Guerrero is 2 YEARS YOUNGER.History is not kind to catchers once they reach 35 and that "guy from Milwaukee" (Johnny Estrada) is a legit .300 hitter and had 71 RBI last year, only one catcher in the NL had more last year and he did it in only 115 games...he will catch 135 this year. You are getting suckered badly if you make this deal, never panic because you dont like your catcher....if you dont have Mauer or Martinez then you are not going to get great production so take the .300 ave and 70+ RBI and realize that you may end up with some of the best catching numbers in your league.

I repeat...dont do it....dont do it ....dont do it. This guy is trying to take advantage of you!

No, no, no...
Oswalt is a proven performer, but I wouldn't trade a career .325, guranteed 30+HR's, 100 RBI's first round pick to get him.
And then he wants to take matsuzaka too? Dice-K has been strong so far and plays on a very good hitting team, at worst he may have a 4.00 ERA and win 14 games.

Now about your catcher problem - never, never, never force a trade because of your catcher. All catchers suck, that's why Mauer goes so early in the draft. Because after him they all basically suck - if you picked a team to play in your stat categories and didn't have to worry about what position they played there wouldn't be a catcher in your league much less on your team.
And if your catcher is Johnny Estrada, he doesn't suck that bad. He won't be your top offensive player but he won't hurt you either. He'll hit near .300 but will probably sit out when they play against LHP. And Posada is not that much better.

Stay with what you have and keep an eye on Miguel Montero in Ari - if he gets a full time job, switch and take a chance.

Not bad. U do know Matthews may not even play 50 games or could be dropped all toegether. Posada is good but For Vlad..... (I am sure you could turn around and trade Vlad for a top catcher and a decent OF) Secondly Matsuzaka is going to be better then average. Oswalt will do better. But I dont think by that much.

Go with that trade. You will do just fine
