On days when the car is sitting at home leave the trunk open. Go th the grocery store and pick up several shallow aluminum thin foil type pans. Large diameters are better. Place them in all floor wells and block them up in the trunk with wood strips. Fill them with ordinary vinegar. Leave these pans in every night and when your not using the car. It'll take several days for the kerosene smell to got out of your car. It's nastier than gasoline. If your husband were married to my wife he'd never see the keys again. I spilled a gallon of gasoline in my trunk last summer and this trick worked for me. Good luck young lady!

After cleaning thoroughly like you said you have done already mix about 3 tablespoons of vanilla in a gallon of water to scrub and saturate the contaminated area. Let soak in for 30 minutes then use a wet vac to remove the excess moisture.

smoke a joint in your car with windows up.. A friend of a friend wanted me to detail his car for him. It took a full bottle of febreeze and 3 hours of an air ionizer and a complete interior shampoo to get rid of the weed smell.
