I did at one point learn that lesbians were marked with black triangles in the holocaust while gay men were marked with pink triangles, but that's a lousy way to choose so :p~
I don't know how purple got chosen. Maybe a combination of blue and pink, boy and girl colors? Well, I know that the color preferences of people don't go along lgbt lines. I think, though that a person's favorite color does say something about them:
people who love green love nature
people who love blue love water
people who love black are introverted and quiet...etc
not always of course.
my favorite color is copper. I have no idea what that means!

Can you tell bigotry by the questions people ask? Twenty years ago the only colors clothing manufacturers offered fat women were white, black and purple. Does that make every fat women a lesbian? When you join a sports team you don't have a choice of the color jersey you wear so do only lesbians join the clubs that have purple jerseys? This question would be so annoying if it weren't so sad.

I'm a lesbian, and purple's not my favorite color. No, I don't think you can define someone from their favorite colors.

No purple isn't the color of lesbians.
The Bisexual Pride symbol and flag are made up of the colors purple, pink, and indigo.
the symbol is a pink triangle overlapping a purple one forming a smaller indigo one...
You cant define someone by a certain color though...
the rainbow is the gay/lesbian pride symbol and colors...

In the historic sense, purple is the color of royalty. In the modern sense, purple is the predominantly favorite color for girls, Just like blue is the predominant favorite for boys.

No. My favorite colors happen to black and pink. And im a lesbian to the fullest extent of the word. A color is a color. It has no life defining meaning.

I don't think we really own a color. The gay community considers purple and pink a representation of them and we use it in our upside down triangles and such although we have the rainbow as our symbol. I've never really considered purple to be a lesbian symbol.
but... purple is mine and my girlfriend's favorite color hmm... *ponders* = P

Maybe you could tell something about their personality by which colours they like but not things like sexual preference.
I'm a lesbian and my favourite colours are deep reds and deep golden greens. I also like periwinkle which is almost purple but I'm not really into true purple.

Where did you get that from. Purple is a colour is a colour is a colour but has nothing to do with lesbianism.
