well no, if the foundation is your the right color you shouldn't have to add anything the only reason people say to wet the sponge is to blend and make it glide on easier. so it's really up to you. Almay has some awesome foundations, and i recently bought the bare minerals collection. It is awesome!!! the results are flawless!!

For lighter coverage, you can wet the sponge and wring it out before applying a liquid foundation. It also helps it go on smoother because there's less drag.
Using a damp sponge is optional. It's a matter of personal preference and coverage desired.
Other options include just using your finger tips or a foundation brush. www.cosmeticscop.com has good instructions re: makeup application.

Just pour some in the cap and dab the dry sponge into it and apply it to the spots you need to cover up. I guess if you really want a THICK coverage you can wet the sponge. If not then it's not necessary.

We were born with all the true make up tools we needed, our fingers! After cleansing and moisturizing you face you should apply your foundation by patting it on to the darker spots and blemishes pat it until its blended in to your skin then continue with your cover up and always its always a good idea to rub upward on your cheek bone in counter clock wise circles to promote blood flow. Another tip if possible try putting your make up on next to a window or in a room with a lot of natural light, that way you will be able to achieve your best look because indoor lighting is not always the same room to room or office to home but the suns ray are always the same.

instead of using a sponge, use a brush... like the foundation brushes they sell at MAC it works great for me! and when applying the foundation only use on dark areas and or areas where you have break outs... then blend!
