the CSA take £65 a week from me. believe - they can do what they want, they don`t care about how you will manage.

The CSA will take what ever it is they have worked out that he can afford to pay and will only change it if his situation changes. He must pay child support whether he sees the child or not. When it comes to contact he can go to court where they will arrange set days and times that he can see his child which suit both the mother and the father.

It has nothing to do with whether your boyfriend sees his son or not. His son still has needs - like food, clothing and shelter. £30pw isn't going to go very far towards covering the costs involved in rearing a child. It's your boyfriend's responsibility to pay towards the upkeep of his son. If he's skint, why doesn't he go get a job? If he's working, he an afford it. The child still has his needs, whether it's convenient for your boyfriend or not.
He should go back to the courts to arrange visitation with his son.

The CSA works out child maintenance from how much an absent parent earns. The absent parent has to pay a fixed % unless they are on benefits or the absent parent has another child that they are responsible for, living with them. Hope this helps.

As far as i know the CSA take into consideration of the absent parents income and outgoings. He would have to talk to them and explain his situation and they might drop his payments according to his outgoings. My x hubby pays every month and he hasnt had no contact with his children for the past 13yrs, thats his choice. If your bf wants regular contact with his son then he should seek the advice of a solicitor.

dont panic too much as alot of people pay alot more. Is it proven that the baby is his? Anyway the csa is being terminated as they are 7yrs in arrears with claims so even if your bf does have to pay this amount for the time being it wont be that long x

No. The CSA have only one target - to reduce Government expenditure.

if thats what theyve worked out thats what he can afford. its hardly a great sum is it, you try raising a child on it, why would a sensible woman jump to the defense of a man who doesnt see his son as a financial priority.
