It doesn't affect the site much. I think it's just gonna make some people feel jealous and try to do the same. Personally, I don't care.

I feel like it makes the people who are top contributors feel HAPPY, so I don't really pay much attention to it. :)

i don't really see how it's necessary. if i cared how much other users were contributing, i'd go look on their profiles to see their points and such. and those popups that show their best answer percentage is pissing me off, i can't even move my mouse across the screen without them popping up all over the place.
