Unfortunately, I DON'T think this is "their year". I think they should at least make the Sweet Sixteen, and very possibly the Final Four...but they're still a young, inconsistent team, lacking the experience that helps teams win tight games - they look, to me, a bit like the 2004 team that couldn't quite pull it together, but then with an extra year of experience won it all in 2005. They COULD win the title, but frankly, I'd be pleasantly surprised if they do. However, if no one jumps to the NBA, then NEXT year UNC should be nothing short of amazing - give these guys one more year of playing together, one more year for Lawson, Wright, and Ellington to simply develop a bit more, and they could be all-but-unbeatable.
I will say this - it's a wide-open tournament - I wouldn't be surprised to see any one of the top 8 teams win it. It'll come down to who gets on a roll, and who manages to squeak by in the "bad game" - in the course of 6 games, the eventual winner always has at least one "off day", where they play badly or another team just shoots the lights out...and they have to find some way to win anyway. As Dean Smith always said, in order to win a 6-game single elimination tournament, "you've got to be good AND you've got to be lucky".

North Carolina is a tricky team, like alot of the teams this year. They have the talent, but are pretty inconsistant just like Ohio State, UCLA, and Kansas. I wouldn't be surprised if they win it all, but then again, i wouldn't be surprised if they get knocked out in the Sweet 16. My guess is they'll make it to the Elite 8 and lose.

it could desire to ensue, North Carolina will beat Gonzaga honestly, and whey will beat Oklahoma in an extensive game, yet i've got self assurance UNC will lose to Pittsburgh and win the full element simply by fact the Panthers have a protection which could close down any group from everywhere on the court docket. i don't be responsive to the Pitt element look after's call, yet he can tremendously specific close down Ty Lawson.

Their play has been inconsistent and they have lost to many teams they should have beaten this year. They will be upset early in either the second or third round.
Not to mention Ol' Roy will choke without a doubt.

This is their year to win it all. They were in a year of growing pains last year and the talent has matured.

Hard to tell without seeing the bracket. But they have a team that can go all the way. I expect them to get put out in the thrid round.
