do you live in, and why did you move/stay there?

I live in Minnesota, and I moved here in 2000. I was at a crossroads in my life. I am American, but grew up in Switzerland, and came to Colorado for college. I went back to Switzerland, and tried to make it work, living with my parents and all that. But I didn't have any friends, and I didn't enjoy the work I was doing, and I knew that my parents were getting ready to retire to the US, so I decided to move back to the US myself. I picked a few cities, and it was a college friend of mine from here, who suggested Minnesota, and I did some comparisons online, for things like standard of living and crime, and other various statistics, and Minnesota came out best. I flew here, stayed with my friend for a week, moved to the youth hostel, was there for another week or two, and after that I had a job and an apartment, and my life was all set up. I didn't last long in that first job, but it got me started. I love Minnesota, and would never consider moving anywhere else now!!!!

I live in the state of confusion...I moved here because I was having a hard time & had the opportunity to get away from it but I plan on moving back in about 2 1/2 yrs.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, but have lived in Pennsylvania and Nevada.
I want to move back to Pennsylvania because the cost of living there is so much cheaper than Massachusetts.

I was born and raised in Texas. With the exception of my son and his family, my brothers and some distant relatives, who live in other states, I visit on occasion. I have no reason to leave on a permanent basis.

pennsylvania...i was sent here as a child cause my parents died... have lived other places but this place is like a big magnet, i keep comin back... i guess i would rather eat beans in the country than steak in the city

moved there from Oregon to be closer to my parents who are in their late 70's
